1. Resumption of Face to Face U3A classes

Hi Everyone,

I have some good news for those of you who have been unable to run your face-to-face classes since 21 August.

DHHS has now determined that Adult and Community Education of the type U3A Port Fairy runs can now re-open.

To conduct your face-to-face classes at Port Fairy Community House (and at other timetabled venues) you will need to follow the current COVID protocols including mask wearing, physical distancing and ventilation (door open).  You will need to appoint a ‘COVID marshall’  to ensure participants check in with the QR code or write their names on the sheet provided and that everyone is wearing a mask etc

In using the rooms at Port Fairy Community House we all need to comply with the following strict limits on numbers:

  • the Cottage – 12 people in total
  • Station room – 8 in total
  • Outdoor classroom – 9 in total.

If your enrolments exceed the maximum number for your timetabled room you will need to manage this beforehand. We suggest you ask participants to  RSVP so you can ensure no more than the total permitted number attend the class.

For those running courses with large enrolments Sue may be able to book a bigger venue.

Thank you to everyone for staying in touch with your participants during this frustrating time!  We appreciate the efforts of those who have shared resources and have led zoom sessions for the first time. Members have let us know that they want their courses to continue in whatever way possible during the lockdown and have appreciated all you have done to keep the momentum going!

Kind regards,

Dr Kate Donelan
